Nitrogen-doped porous carbon material was generated via thermal pyrolysis of zeolitic imidazole frameworks (ZIFs). The structure the ZIF templates tuned, so that obtained product an N-doped carbon-containing encapsulated metal nanoparticle. hierarchical structural and unique properties pyrolyzed materials are involved in further application, including catalysis. as-synthesized were applied as a catalyst for CO2 fixation on cyclic carbonates under near ambient pressure without solvent co-catalyst. zinc dispersion highly material, deriving from ZIF-8, exhibited superior catalytic performance among synthesized materials. acid sites (Zn species) incorporated basic (N-species) present essential high affinity gas adsorption conversion. Additionally, found to be very robust stable during recycling studies remained seven cycles.
